It’s a business, of course, but even beyond operations, costs, marketing and all the business-related stuff, there’s a lot more. There are lots of things to think about when you’re a coffee roaster. Every roaster treats its craft with its own skill and respect level. A Better Cup of CoffeeĬoffee roasters are not all created equal. I realized that I could be doing myself – and the planet – a big favour if I turned my love of coffee into a more eco-friendly habit. In my traditional way of doing anything, I started looking into the products I received, including the coffee. One of those products was a certified clean coffee. What arrived at my door was a box filled to the brim with tons of full-size, awesome products. I’d expected to receive a few skin care samples that were discussed in the video. That day, that lucky participant happened to be me. The webinar was held by M2 Brand Management, which often sends a gift pack to one lucky participant in each of its webinars. It was fascinating, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My main effort with coffee was to find a great sale.Įarlier this year, I attended a skin care webinar. I didn’t have any specific intention of changing. At this time last year, if you’d asked me about my favourite type of coffee, I would have told you it was the Melitta medium-dark roast. I’d always bought my coffee at the grocery store. It was natural for coffee to make it into my efforts to improve what I’m putting in my body.Īs a result, I’m adding a new Green JulieBC section to my Rosy JulieBC blog, to share some of the eco-friendly and natural treasures I’ve discovered as a result of living the Rosy Life. A cleaner diet made with more whole foods and less junk. Natural skin care full of ingredients I’ve read about and understand. Soap nuts instead of traditional laundry detergent. I’ve come to like it and have a taste for living greener. That said, throughout my transition to a rosacea-friendly lifestyle, I’ve quite coincidentally started living a greener lifestyle, too. As far as I can tell, this is one of the one things in my diet that I love and that doesn’t make my cheeks redder (provided I let it cool down before drinking it). I’ve tried switching to decaf, and I’ve tried switching to green tea (and decaf green tea) to make sure it wasn’t having an impact on my rosacea symptoms. I like how it tastes and that it brings me alive in the morning. I love the process of making it, pouring it, and drinking it. We would love to show Elvis again.I love coffee. We wish that more farms would show their older males as we think they deserve the recognition for keeping such fine fibre and stats as they age. In 2012 Elvis was entered in two Stud Raffles and both breedings were purchased The judge commented "very uniform, very soft - no guard hair, hand will feel even better when washed, beautiful to work with" He is often outdoors regardless of the weather and his male crias are following his example, they are very hardy males.Įlvis won 1st place with a score of 92/100 at Alpaca Ontario Mary-Ann English Spin-off Competition 2012, the spinner commented on how very evenly coloured his fleece is.Įlvis won 1st Place and Highest Score in Colour Champion with a score of 98/100 at Alpaca Ontario Mary-Ann English Spin-off Competition 2013. In 2012 Elvis produced 3 silver grey crias from a black, a dark brown and a medium silver grey dam. To date Elvis has 19 cria on the ground, 14 females and 5 males. Elvis will add fineness, reduce the fibres over 30 and add both crimp and staple length. Elvis is maintaining his fineness at the age of 6 he is still 24 micron. High frequency crimp with good density, staple length and fineness. Correct conformation and bite, he is always standing proud. A high quality grey male that we are proud to own.
